The House
Set within its own quiet cove on Lake Anna, Lakewood is a newly built five-bedroom residence designed by its owners as a boutique retreat. Mid-century modern interiors, board-and-batten walls, brass fixtures and curated furnishings run throughout, and each space was created with intention: a kitchen gathered around a long green island, a private office, a bar and game room on the lower level, a screened deck for long dinners, a fire pit beneath the trees, and a covered pavilion at the water's edge. The house sleeps fourteen, and every detail was considered so that your stay feels like a five-star hotel with the privacy of a home.

The Outdoors
Set among mature hardwoods, the grounds at Lakewood were designed to be lived in as fully as the house. A large screened deck opens off the main floor, with a lounge at one end and a table for eight at the other, and an open grill deck beside it. From there, a wooded path winds down toward the shore, past a wood-burning fire pit set among the tall trees, to a covered pavilion at the water's edge, where the morning begins with coffee and the afternoon ends in the shade.

The location
Lakewood sits on the quieter public shore of Lake Anna, directly across the water from Lake Anna State Park, where the far bank stays wooded and the boat traffic stays light. Everything a stay calls for is close at hand. The State Park's beach and trails are four minutes from the door, Anna Point Marina, the best on the lake for boat rentals, is five, Lake Anna Winery is eight, and the town of Mineral, for groceries and ice cream, is ten. Lakeside restaurants are a short drive along the shore, and the house is under an hour from Fredericksburg, about an hour from Richmond, and roughly ninety minutes from Washington.

Lake Anna, VA

Lakewood sits on the quiet public side of Lake Anna, tucked into mature hardwoods on nearly two acres, with the State Park directly across the water.
Transportation
The State Park is about four minutes by road, with hiking trails, a swimming beach, and some of the best sunset views on the lake. Lake Anna Winery is eight minutes away for a slow afternoon tasting. For dinner, Callie Opie's is the best table around, twelve minutes from the house and easy with kids in tow. Mineral, the nearest town, is ten minutes out with a Food Lion for groceries, a pharmacy, and Lake Anna Cream and Caffeine for coffee and ice cream. Vito's on Lake Anna covers a casual bite or a beer, and Anna Point Marina rents boats if you want a day on the water beyond the dock. When the group wants a bigger day out, Kings Dominion is 45 minutes away and historic Fredericksburg is under an hour. But most guests find the reason they came is already here: the water through the trees, and nowhere to be.
